Authors will be notified of receipt. All papers are scrutinized by referees. Submission of a paper to this Journal implies that it represents original work not previously published, not being considered for publication elsewhere, and that if accepted by the Journal, it will not be published without the written consent of the Editor-in-Chief. All papers accepted become copyright of the Journal. The Journal takes no responsibility for returning unaccepted manuscripts.

Typescript

Typescript should be in English. Type ALL material (abstract, text, reference list, tables and illustration captions) double-spaces on A4 page size. Leave 3.5 cm margins on all sides. Send it including illustrations. The paper should include an English abstract immediately after author (s) names and affiliation. The abstracts should summarize the main facts and conclusions of the paper and be understandable in isolation, it should not exceed 250 words. Do not underline ANY words except
     (a) the names of new chemical compounds the first time they are mentioned in the experiment part
     (b) the Latin names of genera and species. Do not underline headings.

In case of Latin names except for nomenclature that follows a generally acceptable standard work (which should be cited), the authority should be given once when the name is first mentioned in the text or tables. Use the numeric system and standard abbreviations. Never repeat the same materials in tables and figures.

Tables

Tables should be numbered in Arabic numerals according to their sequence in the text and each be accompanied by a brief self-explanatory title. Any explanation essential for the understanding of the table should be given as a footnote at the bottom of the table. Each table should be typed double-spaced on a separate page of the manuscript. Larger bodies of data should not be presented and data should preferably be presented in the graphical form wherever possible. The single (*), double (**) and triple (***) asterisk should be used to indicate statistical significance and should have priority in the order 0.05, 0.01 and 0.001 levels of significance respectively.

Graphs, photos and illustrations

Graphs should be drawn using Microsoft Excel software and a copy of the graph and its data should be submitted together via www.jonares-uoj.com.

Illustrations (line drawings and photographs) must be of high quality suitable for direct reproduction. Number all illustrations consecutively. Include a scale where required. Type caption or all illustrations double-spaced on a separate sheet. Each caption should contain sufficient explanation to be meaningful.

Line drawing should not exceed 21 x 28 cm. Lettering should be of professional quality and of a size appropriate that of the figure in order to stand reduction. Typewritten lettering in figures is not acceptable. Photographs should be black and white high quality glossy original prints of maximum contrast, not exceeding 13 x 18 cm and of highest resolution.

Please indicate the scale on the photograph to give magnification (or reduction) in the caption. Send three sets of the ORIGNAL photographs.

References

Citation in the text should take the form: Peter and Grace (1992) or Odra (1999). When referring to a work by more than two authors, give the name of the first author followed by et al. more than one work by the same author(s) in the same year should be identified by the letters a, b, c etc., following the year of publication. Citations of personal communication and unpublished data should be avoided, if inevitable, such citation, should appear in the text only, as (M. S., Ladu, personal communication) and not in the reference list.

The reference to the literature should be arranged alphabetically, typed double-spaced. For journals give the Author, Year, Title, Journal, Volume, Page(s); e.g. Peter, A. A. M., and Grace, J., 1992. Acclimation to drought in Acer pseudoplatanus L. seedling. Journal of Experimental Botany, 43, 1591 – 1602. For books give the Author, Year, Title, Editor, Publisher, City, Page(s); e.g. Nobel, P. S., 1991. Physicochemical and Environmental Plant Physiology. Academic Press, New York.

Proof and off prints

One set of proof will be sent to the corresponding author for checking. Offprint of the paper will be supplied free of charge. Additional copies can be purchased if ordered when the proofs are returned. Prices will be indicated on the order form. Failure to comply with any of the above instructions will normally lead to the delay of / or declining the publication of the article.
